what i know about anything korean...

1.Korean Food:
Kimchi,bulgogi,vermicilli,some boiled ginseng chicken rice thing think called "sam ge tang"?

2.Also food...Korean biscuits!
Crown's Cocque D'asse and wafers,choco pie...mmmm.lotte and orion also have nice stuff,just bought a stack of boxes-they were going for 39cents!hooray for me!

3.Korean miniseries:
watched heaps over the last christmas hols.but can't really remember any actors' names...more notable ones-lovers in paris,full house,love story in harvard,my girl...storylines are so similar it's a déjà vu inducer-so best to watch when alternative is stoning.

4.Korean music :k-pop, jazz!-surprising...i suppose if the japanese have it down to a pat why not hey?can appreciate but don't really understand lyrics.not much different to american pop,good as study music as not compelled to generate lyrics in head.sadly don't know that many artists save the big names who get their faces/pictures plastered on print
(sounds like wallpaper) like boa and rain.i didn't even realise he was the guy in full house till a friend pointed it out.but like jyp's songs.probably equivalent to david tao in the korean music scene,just that nowadays he gets a younger face to perform them.ahem.good strategic marketing?

5.the Korean language
surprisingly it is a relatively easy language to pick up romanized-easier than japanese at least.sounds are pegged to a symbol and if you know what the word sounds like you can phonetically write the word out and vice versa for reading them.just that sounds funny to me coming from a mandarin background where everything is so flowy.

was quite surprised to know i know so much korean stuff though have never been there nor know any koreans personally.think my japanese list might be longer though.but thank god for globalisation!
